PMs focus on cleanliness and sanitation gain brownie points
India’s largest software exporter Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) announced a Rs. 100-crore donation for sanitation facilities for girl students in 10,000 schools across the country. In a statement, the company said this initiative, following the 'Clean India' initiative by Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on the Independence Day, is aimed at harnessing the ‘demographic dividend’. TCS also mentioned that the investment will help children, especially girl students, to participate in school education for a longer period of time and play a larger economic role in their communities.

TCS chief executive and managing director N Chandrasekaran said the outlay, announced following the launch of the 'Clean India' initiative by Modi, will have a tangible impact on the level of education achievement. The PM has also asked corporates to use their CSR
