With a focus on improving the waste and water management practices in schools, communities, households and other places through the use of user-friendly and cost-effective systems; Green Bandhu came up with a RoliPoli composting system. It is a closed, space-efficient, weather-proof, odour and pest-free composting system based on continuous composting mechanism and doesn’t require electricity. The system is designed in such a way that the bio-degradable waste gets converted into compost in a natural process through controlled aeration, temperature and moisture. It is made of UV-protected fiber and strengthened with aluminum struts for longer life. A RoliPoli unit has four compartments. One needs to feed the RoliPoli with kitchen or garden waste and lift the mouth. The first compartment empties into the second compartment when the unit has completed a whole revolution of ten flat surfaces. The first compartment is then empty and can receive new waste which is then completely separate from the previous waste which is now in the second compartment. It is only necessary to roll the unit to make room for the new waste to be added. It aerates effortlessly and continuously for faster decomposition of waste. Leave until next feeding time or when it needs to be moved. For complete decomposition it takes 12-14 weeks and makes over one tonne compost per year.
